Chairperson's Message

Greetings from the ASIS North Texas Chapter!

Each year the Chapter strives to deliver high quality events, education and certification material to our members. We could not have done this without the efforts of our members, volunteers, and Board of Directors for their continued involvement and support!

The Chapter’s focus for the 2018 year centered on the fundamentals of security certification, young professionals and technology.

This past February our CPP Boot Camp instructors offered valuable insight to members preparing for the CPP exam. Because of the huge success are extremely excited to end the year with an opportunity to win a FREE CPP certification! Additional details can be found on the Chapter website.

We hosted a forum targeting young professionals interested in seeking career opportunities within the security industry. Thank you to those that sponsored a Young Professional (YP) social event! We would like to host more YP events, so please feel free to sign up to host, sponsor, or volunteer on the YP committee.

The 54th LEAN event held at the Southern Cross Ranch, was a huge success with over 700 people in attendance to support our North Texas local law enforcement and Assist the officer Foundation (ATO). We are pleased to announce a check in the amount of $10,000 will be donated to the (ATO) Foundation in January 2019.

The Women in Security (WIS) held a fabulous event in August. The WIS Wine Wednesday was a hit engaging several women across the security industry! The Women in Security Gala was also a success raising over $4,000 that will be presented to the Genesis Women’s Shelter in February 2019. Please check back for more exciting WIS events in 2019.

For all of you in the Ft. Worth area, we have launched a new Ft. Worth Committee associated with the NTX Chapter. The first event will be held in mid-December and we hope all the “Cow Town” folks come out and meet their fellow ASIS members and bring some new guests. Additional events will follow in 2019.

We are so proud of the partnerships we have gained this year. We offer a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our 2018 sponsorships! We could not have done this without you!!

Lastly, our website is the focal point for the chapter communications. Please take time to review and get to know your board members and committee teams. The 2018 BOD has been re-elected to continue in 2019. If you would like to lead or serve on a committee, WE NEED YOU, so please don’t hesitate to send us a note or get involved.

Happy Holidays from the ASIS North Texas Chapter!
